What is an Open Youth Centre? Ever thought how being stuck in a room full of locks & puzzles can teach something, or how to design such an experience for social change? Ever wondered how to empower young people by playing spin the bottle with time travelling robots?

These are just some of the questions answered in our podcast series “Gems of Youth Work”, where we shine a light on precious practices shared by youth workers from all over Europe.

After months of searching, polishing and preparing the best gems in the field of international youth work, the first season of our podcast series is being launched today, 13th of January! Then, every second Tuesday we will release a new episode followed by its corresponding visual summary.

“Gems of Youth Work” is a strategic partnership project to promote good practices and the value and recognition of international youth work in the field of youth, by producing podcasts and graphic recordings based on testimonies of youth workers:

  • Each episode of our podcast series gathers a story from youth workers or trainers that can (and will!) inspire you;
  • Each episode can bring new ideas, plans and tools into your daily work;
  • Each episode is full of best practices, insights and highlights for other practitioners to mirror and experiment with.
